Florilegium: St John Passion, J. S. Bach

  • Southwark Cathedral London Bridge SE1 9DA (map)

Wimbledon Choral, Florilegium and international soloists perform J. S. Bach's masterpiece under the baton of the choir’s Music Director, Neil Ferris.

St. John Passion is the older of the surviving passions by J. S. Bach. It is one of the great Passions, epitomising most music-lovers idea of passion music. This is the second concert of Wimbledon Chorale’s Triptych of Passions.

The concluding concert of the series will take place in Southwark Cathedral on 17 June 2023. Anna Pickard in the Times stated, following our concert in the Royal Festival Hall, that “ Wimbledon Choral…made a lovely sound – clean, clear and bright.”

Florilegium is one of Britain’s most outstanding period instrument groups specialising in music from the 17th and 18th centuries.
